SWALLOW CAVE COLD MOON

Arriving via Sad Club Records, Bristol band Swallow Cave have revealed their sombre yet jangly new single 'Cold Moon'. Floating along steadily, country-tinged guitars and melodic bass interact laxly beneath layered vocals that echo nuances of some of the greats, from Patti Smith to Angel Olsen. Lyrically serving as a metaphor for depression and anxiety, the cold moon creeps when you'd least like it to as vocalist Polly explains: "Cold Moon is about feeling really low and going to the darkest places in your mind, which for me is often late at night, and then the next morning feeling everything with kind of heightened senses and disbelief that my mind could have gotten that low the night before, but then inevitably goes back to again.” Produced by the esteemed Ali Chant (who's worked previously with the likes of PJ Harvey, Soccer Mommy and Katy J Pearson to name a few) 'Cold Moon' is a deeply personal and unexpectedly comforting listen. -Holly Mullineaux
